Viticulture on red stone

The Rottensteiner family is one of the earliest winemaking families in the province, and their wine history began many generations ago. Their wine grows on porphyry, which is the typical soil of the region. This rock, the red stone, gave its name to the family as it derives from "Rotten" which means Red and "Stainer" which means stones: these are the distinctive signs of the soils of Bolzano. Sincerity and authenticity and passion are the main values that guide the family in the art of viticulture.
