It was 1875 when in Bormio Francesco Peloni, pharmacist of Bormio in Valtellina, created the Braulio bitter. The recipe, still secret today, contains several herbs and medicinal plants including yarrow muscat, juniper berries, wormwood and gentian roots.
Braulio ages in Slavonian oak barrels for a minimum of 15 months. The slow maturation together with the alcohol content of 21,- and the naturalness of its formulation create an incomparable balance of taste and aromas. It is best enjoyed smooth or with an ice cube.
Braulio Riserva, produced in limited quantities, follows a more delicate filtration method that gives it a denser look with a more intense flavor and aroma. It ages in small Slavonian oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months which make the flavors persistent and give the bitterness its distinctive nuances of herbs and essential oils along with the notes of woods and roots. To be tasted smooth.
